Copper futures end lower on Wednesday

Copper futures ended lower on Wednesday, as worries about demand resurfaced ahead of trade talks between the United States and China that are seen as unlikely to yield progress. However, a softer US currency was helping to limit losses of dollar-denominated industrial metals, as it makes them cheaper for non-US firms.

Copper futures for September delivery fell 0.8 percent to settle at $2.674 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. While, copper on the London Metal Exchange ended down 0.7 percent at $6,005 a metric ton.
