Copper futures end flat on Thursday

Copper futures ended flat on Thursday ahead of Fed Chair Janet Yellen's speech in Jackson Hole later on Friday for clues on the direction of monetary policy. Meanwhile, copper has been under pressure from a rise in LME copper stocks, which added another 9,175 tonnes on Thursday, bringing total stocks to 263,875, a jump of 72 percent since June 1.

Copper futures for December delivery settled nearly flat at $2.083 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. While, copper on the London Metal Exchange ended down 0.1 percent to $4,626 a metric ton.
