Government disburses Rs 293.45 crore under Coffee Debt Relief Package

The Government has disbursed a total benefit of Rs 293.45 crore as its share of liability under Coffee Debt Relief Package (CDRP) thereby benefiting 135,283 small coffee growers. The Coffee Board and Banks have successfully implemented the Coffee Debt Relief Package 2010 sanctioned by Government of India for the debt ridden coffee growers. The Coffee Board has also not come across any shortcoming in the implementation of the CDRP. 

However, some of the farmers who could not get the benefit as per their expectations/ calculations represented to the Coffee Board. The matter was taken up with the Banks and State Level Bankers Committees as and when such representations were received by them.
