Wheat futures trades in green on good global cues (05-Aug-2010)
Wheat futures are trading in green on Thursday taking cue from the surge in the global markets, September contract on the CBOT surged 6.7 per cent to $7.2575 a bushel in overnight trade. On the domestic front, though the government has said that it won’t ban wheat imports despite a bumper harvest and ample stocks, but affirmation to exports through diplomatic channels have given some support.
The contract for August delivery was trading at Rs 1234.00, up by 0.06% or Rs 0.80 from its previous closing of Rs 1233.20. The open interest of the contract stood at 22430 lots.
The contract for September delivery was trading at Rs 1252.00, up by 0.16% or Rs 2 from its previous closing of Rs 1250.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 19370 lots on the NCDEX.
