Jeera futures trade high on the back of the firming up export and domestic demanF (03-Sep-2010)
Jeera futures trade high on the back of export order inquiry from Bangladesh, Nepal and Gulf. Further, rising export and domestic demand amidst low stocks are expected to continue its bullish impact on price of the commodity from a medium term point of view. As Reports indicate likelihood of a fall in production in the other growing countries like Turkey and Syria which may in turn shift the demand more towards India in coming weeks.
The contract for September delivery was trading at Rs 13492, up by 1.57% or Rs 208 from its previous closing of Rs 13284.The open interest of the contract stood at 11451 lots.
The contract for October delivery was trading at Rs 13680, up by 1.53% or Rs 206 from its previous closing of Rs 13474. The open interest of the contract stood at 15081 lots on the NCDEX.
