Assam Company Plans To Venture Into New Business (15-Aug-2010)
Assam Company (India) has received its board’s approval to enter into a new business so as to deal in trade performance product by way of pre-contracted commodity trade in meal, grain, oil, sugar and similar agricultural commodities. The company’s board gave its approval at its meeting held on August 14, 2010.
Meanwhile, the board has also given its consent for setting up of an Employee Welfare Trust.
Assam Company is primarily into tea cultivation in India. Besides tea plantation, the company is also engaged in the business of infrastructure and oil and gas exploration.
